Acoustic Pulse Recognition Touch Technology

Elo Acoustic Pulse Recognition (APR) touchscreens use a completely new and unique way of sensing touches on a display. Consisting only of a glass overlay mounted in front of the display, together with a small electronic controller board, APR technology provides a new set of benefits that have only been partially achieved before by other touch technologies.

APR combines the ultimate in optical qualities, durability, and stability, with excellent dragging properties, along with stylus, glove and fingernail activation, and low cost advantages. In addition, it is resistant to water and other contaminants on the screen, can be scaled from PDA to 42-inch displays, and provides palm rejection.

APR works in a simple and elegant way—by recognizing the sound created when the glass is touched at a given position.

Elo is initially launching APR technology directed at the POS market.

AccuTouch Five-Wire Resisitive Touch Technology

Elo developed AccuTouch technology with the harshest environments in mind, so it's no wonder that it excels in reliability, durability, and expected product life. Impervious to environmental conditions such as liquid spills and splashes and washdown, these screens are the most contamination-resistant available. They deliver drift-free operation for a lifetime of 35 million finger touches.

IntelliTouch Surface Wave Touch Technology

IntelliTouch surface wave is the optical standard of touch. Its pure glass construction provides superior optical performance and makes it the most scratch-resistant technology available. It's nearly impossible to physically "wear out" this touchscreen. IntelliTouch is widely used in kiosk, gaming, and office automation applications and is available for both flat panel and CRT solutions.

CarrollTouch Infared Touch Technology

CarrollTouch infrared technology is the survivor of harsh applications. It's the only technology that does not rely on an overlay or substrate to register a touch, so it's impossible to physically "wear out" the touchscreen. CarrollTouch technology combines superior optical performance with excellent gasket-sealing capabilities, so it's an excellent choice for harsh industrial and outdoor kiosk applications. Touched with a finger, gloved hand, fingernail, or stylus, it delivers a fast, accurate response every time. CarrollTouch infrared technology is available for flat panel solutions.

Surface Capacitive Touch Technology

Elo surface capacitive touchscreens provide a solution for customers seeking an alternative to the currently available capacitive options. The transparent protective coating makes the sensor resistant to scratches and abrasions. Touch performance is unaffected by everyday abuse and mishaps such as dirt, dust, condensation, liquid spills, contaminants or cleaning solutions. And the Elo-designed controller responds to quick, light touches, and operates drift-free even in areas of poor grounding.
